Embossing Rolls
-
with Steve Jossart
Creating Embossing Rolls is an artistic production process that requires the specialized skills of craftsmen. Our patterns are both aesthetic and functional, for example, our precision engraved rolls enhance the beauty and appeal of the instrument and door panels of your automobile as well as the appearance and absorption of paper towels and toilet tissue.
Our state-of-the-art facilities and experienced teams manufacture embossing production rolls that impart uniform patterns and engineered applications to a wide spectrum of consumer products.
For decades embossing rolls from Industrial Engraving, GB Embossing, and IR Engraving have benchmarked industries using rigid and flexible plastics, tissue/towel, napkins, fine paper, nonwovens, metals, packaging and more.

Pattern Development Developing a new pattern can be completed in two weeks. Our in-house hand sample machine lets us produce specific products for your review prior to full-scale launch. This provides a quick, low-cost way to analyze the initial phase of product development before moving forward.
We can replicate rubber to steel as well as matched steel up to 12 inches wide. Our sample machine has the ability to produce your pattern concept with multiple depths, radiusing, and sidewall angle requirements.
DTT (Digital Transfer Technology) Our pattern development experts can manipulate a pattern to fit the roll diameter, and then programmed into the DTT engraver. This process shortens the turnaround time required for most patterns.
Surface Treatments
Embossed roll patterns are both aesthetic and functional.
To accommodate today’s fast-paced manufacturing environment, we have developed complete digital engraving technologies for efficient use by our customers and designers. We have the versatility to quickly customize, design, and reproduce patterns ranging from fine leather grains to large geometric patterns. Rapid prototype samples are available in days or, if scheduled in advance, may be developed in real-time. Once the baseline design is established, patterns can be easily modified for a custom appearance dependent on the needs of the application and design.
Additionally, we have the industry’s leading pattern library, offering our customers over 100,000 standard designs. Many of these patterns have been hand cut by our leading craftsman and are not easily replicated by other engraving methods. Of course, customers are always welcome to visit our design centers in Wisconsin and Virginia to develop a new generation of patterns.
Repair and Refurbish
Our roll refurbishment service is a cost-effective means to extend the lifespan of your existing rolls. We provide roll inspection, journal repair, and removal of old engraving as part of our re-engraving service for rolls supplied by you or manufactured by Precision Roll Solutions.
