THE POSITION

The Logistics Coordinator prepares, routes and manages our purchase orders. Their main duties include reviewing shipment materials before distributions, collaborating with transportation systems to ensure prompt shipment pick-ups and monitoring shipment costs and productivity processes.

Details

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Shipping and receiving, and storage/transfer of raw material at MCOE.
Maintain inventory of crates and all packaging materials for all products to ship.
Package all parts orders appropriately for shipment (including customer specific standards).
Arrange truck freight for shipping parts and machinery including appropriate documentation (BOL, Pack Slip, etc).
Receive job materials, verify accuracy to pack slip and enter record in EPICOR. Notify Purchasing of any discrepancies.
Inspect parts for accuracy and defects at time of receipt.
Maintain record of PRS supplied materials to vendors.
Maintain vendor accounts such as UPS, FEDEX, DHL, etc.

2) Parts inventory management.
Label, store and maintain accurate material inventory.
Organized job specific materials by job as directed by Manufacturing Manager or Assembly Lead.
Return left over/unused parts from jobs to inventory with guidance from Project Manager.

3) Support of manufacturing operations including coordination with suppliers and all internal functions.

4) Perform facility maintenance tasks as directed by site leadership to include but not limited to the following:
Procure office and shop supplies.
Communicate outdoor facility service needs (lawn maintenance, snow removal, etc) to MECA Operations Manager.
Non-typical facility maintenance requirements to be communicated to site leadership.
Coordinate annual inspections as required (OH crane, forklifts, rigging, DOT inspections, etc)
Communicate company vehicle immediate maintenance needs to MECA Operations Manager.
Coordinate uniform services for assembly team with PRS Account POC as needed.
Coordinating vending services (snack machine).
Daily mail pickup and distribution.

5) Perform assigned safety task to include but not limited to the following:
Maintain SDS
Review and maintain all chemicals for labels and proper storage.
Collect, record and maintain safety records (incident/accident reports).
Execute site training plan as directed/approved by Manufacturing Manager.
Maintain site training records and communicate to MECA Safety Coordinator as needed.
Maintain posted facility signage for State/Federal employment law notices.
Create, maintain, and post site Evacuation/Severe Weather Plan.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Good oral and written communicator.
Ability to “think on your feet”, creative problem solving, determine and advocate customer needs.
Personable and able to develop and maintain good relationships.
Knowledge of windows-based computer applications.
Ability to read drawings and technical specifications to inspect parts for accuracy and defects.
Ability to maintain composure, positive attitude, and organization with multiple tasks amidst constant interruptions and conflicting priorities.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Ability to safely operate a forklift.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.

The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
